Access & User Administration -
Secured access for ePartner web users, that only you authorize,
without additional iSeries 400 user profiles or user profiles
within your ERP system. Integrated User Administration services
allow trusted ePartners, which you authorize, to administer
their own additional users at their site. This alleviates the
overhead and burden of you perpetually maintaining the ever-changing
list of users within an ePartner.
Task
Security - Based on who the ePartner individual web
user is, EAX allows for the designation of what "tasks" they
are allowed to run once logged in. A task can be a iSeries 400
legacy database inquiry (like customer order status or shipment
status), a static web page, viewing an engineering drawing from
a directory, web-enabled e-mail, an on-demand iSeries 400 report,
or even an ftp download page.
iSeries 400 Based - We all know
how stable the IBM iSeries 400 is and will continue to be. Well,
the iSeries 400 has been a web server since V3R2 of OS/400.
Your enterprise data is on the 400; why not serve your web data
via the same machine. Whether you choose to serve the data from
your existing production machine or a standalone iSeries 400
web server "talking to" your production machine, you still have
the reliability you have come to expect from the iSeries 400.
Business
Entity Cross Referencing - In
order to serve iSeries 400 data to the web, specific to the
user logged on, there must be a link between that web user and
a business entity in your enterprise. For example, if web user
joeuser is a customer, he can be linked to a customer (or customers)
in your enterprise database. EAX's cross referencing is table
driven, linking existing customers, vendors, sales reps, etc.
to the sign-on ID's of the ePartner you choose. Since all the
data's on the iSeries 400, there no need to maintain separate
databases.
Customizable
Look - EAX
is shipped with the same look & feel of your existing website.
Using that site as a model a style template is constructed where
background & font colors, font styles & sizes, background art
or graphics, and more are adjusted to match. Using that EAX
template, all web views served will have the same look and feel.
Reports
"On the Fly" - Running
reports on demand and extending existing spooled file reports
to users has never been easier. EAX allows you to define parameters
for existing reports, which in turn users will be prompted for
at run time. When the task is selected by the web user, EAX
prompts for the parameters, the user keys them, the report will
run on the iSeries 400 and the output is automatically converted
to PDF format and presented to the user.
Active User Monitor & History -
An administrative feature of EAX is the ability to actively
monitor who's logged on (which ePartners) and identify what
they are actively doing. Additionally EAX's User History log
provides immediate feedback in evaluating how often partners
are using which web based offering; and a historical complete
record of who has done what.
