Rescue, plus EC's 830
Planning Schedule (Receive) Support, equals CSC's new Release Management
application.
For the past seven years
CSC's Rescue software offering has provided Order Entry personnel
with an easy way to accomplish what often is a labor intensive, time
consuming and repetitive task. Specifically, the job of processing
EDI planning schedules involves a great deal of manual effort requiring
mass changes to COM Customer Orders, and Rescue came to the rescue.
For the past nine years,
the MAPICS/XA's Electronic Commerce (EC) module has supported the
receipt of 830 EDI Planning Schedules from customers.
Now CSC's new Release
Management application marries the two functions into a single seamless
interface. This system is designed to receive and process customer
MRP schedules, communicated via any electronic media including, EDI,
web site download, email, etc. CSS introduces new functionality into
the EC control file governing how and what data your customers will
send via the 830 Planning Schedule transaction set. Release Management
additionally automates the previously manual entry functions of Rescue.
The result is a fully operator independent, automated system for receiving
and processing planning schedules. Quantities and release dates will
be automatically maintained and new releases will be automatically
added to COM Customer Orders.
